There are people who have their hair curled and there are people with natural curls.  Curls may range from frizzy to large waves but regardless of which range you fall under, it is a known fact that curls are quite difficult to tame.  You would usually see celebrities with beautifully managed curls making you wonder: how did they do that?  Do not ever think that you were not blessed with easy to manage curly hair.  The beautiful curly hairstyles you see in the magazines were created with the help of hair products and some styling techniques.  They did not just wake up with perfect volume and curls falling in all the right places.  Here are tips and tricks for curly hairstyles:

There are many ways for you to go straight if you really dread those locks, however, straightening hair would not be ideal at certain times.  On humid weather, for example, no matter how many hours you spend ironing your hair, the heat of the weather would bring it back to its curly state.  The secret?  Do not fight your natural curls.  Letting it fall around your face is one of the simplest curly hairstyles for humid weather.  After washing your hair, do not blow dry it immediately.  Let it dry on its own.  Once it gets a little dry enough, blow dry your hair upward for longer curly hair to give it volume.  If your have short curls, blow dry it downward to weigh it down and prevent frizz.

Layers are the key to manageable curly hair.  If you have long curly hair and you want to go have a haircut, have it cut in layers.  If all your hair is cut with the same length all around, you’ll end up looking like a Christmas tree or a pyramid.  The layers give it body while also gently emphasizing the hair from middle to the top of the head.  It is quite difficult to find a stylist who would be able to do this without messing your hair.  Look for stylists with great curly hairstyles, they would probably know how hard it is to have them and how it can be styled.

There are several hairstyling products for curly hair.  Mousse is a great product to apply on the tips of your curly hair.  It weighs down the strands to prevent your curls to look as if it is floating in thin air.  It could turn your big curls to sultry waves.  You can also use a hair serum to define your curls more and make them more organized and easier to style.  Serum is applied best with a comb, not a brush.  A comb would add that extra shine to prevent your curls from looking dry and lifeless.

If you already have short curly hair, you can still style it with hair products.  If your hair seems to be untamed, then do not spend hours trying to tame it.  Instead, make the most of how it already looks by applying hair mousse and letting all the curls rise.  Then you can wear a ballerina band or a plain headband to pull it backwards.  Some people with short curly hairstyles have it colored in hues and highlights to take the attention off the messy curls and emphasize the way the color is played by their natural curls.
